A cold but beautifully sunny day saw a record 42 entries for Luton Petanque Club's annual Christmas Snowboule competition on Saturday 28th December.
This was the first time the event had been held at our new venue, and it was certainly more comfortable than some events at the old windswept terrain! Despite some very wet weather in the previous few days, the surface was in good condition.
As usual, the format was a series of short, timed games, with plenty of time between to warm up and socialise in the bar. The melee format meant that players had different partners for each game, giving novices and more experienced players alike, a chance to meet and play with new people.
The top three placings were:
Winner - Adrian Emson
2nd - John Darley
3rd - Ollie Zimmerman
