Luton Petanque Club is one of two clubs in Luton, the other being Luton Conservative Club who play (not surprisingly) at the Conservative Club in Hitchin Road, Stopsley.
We were formed in the early 1990s, and until 2012, played at the Luton Regional Sports Centre. That facility closed in 2012, and we have now moved to a new venue adjacent to Stopsley High School, in St. Thomas's Road, Stopsley. You can see the building process here. Petanque is also a game where wheelchair users and many other disabled players can compete alongside non disabled players. At Luton Petanque Club, our terrain is wheelchair accessible, and disabled players are, of course, welcome. |
We play in two local Leagues. This year we have teams in Division 1 and 4 of the Three Shires League, and Division 1 of the Pennant Midweek League.

We have regular informal sessions, where novices and experts alike can gather for a few games of petanque, a chat and a drink. For newcomers to the sport, we have boules available to borrow. These sessions currently take place on Tuesdays at 1.00 pm and on Sundays at 11 am. If the weather is bad, it might make sense to phone first. For more information, find out how to contact us here. |
